A brand new Twitch gaming integration where streamer plays versus chat!

In 2025 plai collaborated with Twitch for a brand new streaming format to coincide with the National Women’s Soccer League championship.

We know that the interaction between streamer and chat is what makes Twitch so much fun, and we’ve seen a lot of gaming streamers start to involve their chat in different gameplay decisions like where to turn or which loot box to try. We wanted to enhance this interplay even further, so plai created an interactive game in which the streamer actually plays versus the chat, with all controls being managed in the Twitch chat itself.

For launch we created a penalty shoot out game for the official TwitchSports channel livestream of the NWSL final. The streamer would choose where to shoot, then the chat would vote for which spot in goal to block by voting within the chat. The chat was lit up with interaction during gameplay. plai studio are excited to collaborate further with Twitch to create new innovations in the streaming world.
