plai started based on the foundational belief that AR layers on social platforms could be powerful enough to run complete immersive experiences. The Tatum 2 gamified Snapchat Lens brings this technical vision to fruition. Based on the Nike campaign featuring all-star basketballer Jayson Tatum as a kid running around his hometown, we took ‘Lil Jay’ on a tour around the neighborhood. Playing in first person as Lil Jay, our players must complete missions to unlock all four colorways of the Tatum 2 in order to complete the game. Running entirely inside Snapchat, a complete game akin to something which would be built in a ‘real’ gaming engine, with open world explorable landscapes, real world physics, cut-scenes and stunning animations. And to top it off with the XR magic that plai is known for, flipping to the back cam allows the player to try on the latest Tatum 2 shoes in augmented reality
